PEER REVIEW PROCESS
The authors are required to submit their manuscripts through the system for consideration of publication in the Journal of IPS Education Dialectics. To be published, the manuscripts must undergo a peer review process (blind-review process). Detailed information about the peer review process can be found here.
All papers are thoroughly reviewed by peers. We only publish articles that have been reviewed and approved by highly qualified researchers with expertise in the relevant field of the article. We employ a single-blind peer review process. Detailed information on the manuscript submission process (for authors) until acceptance by the editor is shown in the following diagram.
I. In short, the steps are as follows:
- Manuscript Submission (by the author) (route 1)
- Manuscript Checking and Selection (by the manager and editor) (route 2).
- The editor has the right to accept, reject, or review the manuscript. Before further processing, plagiarism check is conducted using Turnitin for each manuscript.
- Manuscript Review Process (by the reviewer) (route 3-4)
- Notification of Acceptance, Revision, or Rejection of Manuscript (by the editor to the author based on reviewer comments) (route 5)
II. Manuscript Revision (by the author)
- Submission of Revision based on Reviewer's Suggestions (by the author) with a similar route as point number 1. (route 1)
- If the reviewer seems satisfied with the revision, notification of acceptance (by the editor). (route 6)
- Proof gallery and publishing process (route 7 and 8)
- Steps points 1 to 5 are considered as 1 round of the peer-review process (see the blue area in the image). And the review process goes through at least 2 rounds of review.
- The journal editor or editorial board considers the feedback provided by peer reviewers and makes decisions. The following are the most common decisions:
- Acceptance without any changes (acceptance): the journal will publish the paper in its original form.
- Acceptance with minor revisions (acceptance): the journal will publish the paper and request the author to make minor corrections.
- Acceptance after major revisions (conditional acceptance): the journal will publish the paper provided the author makes the changes suggested by the reviewer and/or editor.
- Revise and resubmit (conditional rejection): the journal management is willing to reconsider the paper in another decision round after the author makes significant changes.
- Reject the paper (direct rejection): the journal will not publish the paper or reconsider it even if the author makes major revisions.
- The acceptance or rejection of the submitted manuscript will be decided by the editorial board, based on the review results from the reviewer. There is no communication between the author and the reviewer during the review process. Also, there is no communication between the author and the editor regarding the rejection decision. Authors whose manuscripts are accepted, revised, or rejected will be informed of the reviewer's decision
